Classroom mascots are still evolving! Have fun making them. They should be made out of OLD items. Teachers spend so much money buying curriculum, but these classroom Mascots should be made from old things you or your students already have at your house. Once you make them, you can keep them for years, or make new the next year! The main thing is to stay consistent with the names of the items, ALWAYS glue THE plastic letter of the object somewhere on the mascot, AND a sign language picture! You can simply buy a sign language poster (or you may have one, and cut the signs out, or google sign language and print them from the internet. The plastic letters can be purchased from Dollar Tree. Sign Language is so much fun, and the letters are very easy to learn. Classroom mascots, can do your daily message, give your tests, give directions, capture students attention, and introduce new concepts. Students can write about the classroom mascot, each has a poem, and lessons that go with it. Each mascot has items glued to it. You can have them live in little houses, as you will see in some of pictures, children can bring the objects, or you can have them glued already, and students can add to the objects.
